China Research Institute of Film Science and Technology

Founded in 1958, China Research Institute of Film Science & Technology (CRIFST) serves as the only national non-profit research institute in China’s film industry. CRIFST is responsible for the management of technical standards in the film industry and is the ISO/TC36 Mirror Committee. CRIFST is engaged in research and consulting for pioneering, basic, strategic technologies with significant application value. CRIFST’s projects range from production, distribution & projection, VFX research to film restoration and other digitization, informatization, networking technologies. CRIFST has been participating in the drafting of long-term national film technology strategic development plan, organizing the standard-making of film technologies. CRIFST provides research & development, consultation & project design service for various application. Moreover, CRIFST would like to develop more international exchange and technical collaboration, playing an important role as an innovation base and experiment platform.
